Recruitment: Evaluation Coordinator (Temporary)

UCL Engagement and QUEERCIRCLE are looking for a temporary Evaluation Coordinator to help create an evaluation framework for a health and wellbeing programme

UCL Engagement and QUEERCIRCLE are collaborating in partnership around the evaluation of QUEERCIRCLE’s upcoming community-focused programme.

UCL Engagement works to support both institutional change and the multiple departmental and individual journeys which combine to create a culture of collaboration and dialogue between the university and the world outside. It comprises the Public Engagement team and the Co-Production Collective. Since 2008, the Public Engagement team has worked to embed public engagement across the institution through funding opportunities, training schemes, and bespoke advice for departments and UCL staff and students and is an active contributor to Public Engagement at a national and international level.

QUEERCIRCLE is an LGBTQ+ led non-profit organisation working at the intersection of arts, culture and social action. They have recently secured a new cultural space which will host a gallery, library and project spaces to deliver a diverse programme of exhibition commissions and collaborative artist residencies to support LGBTQ+ artists at pivotal stages in their career; and year-long learning and participation opportunities for the local and LGBTQ+ community.

The partnership between QUEERCIRCLE and UCL Engagement will create an evaluation framework and sustainable approaches to learning that QUEERCIRCLE can use to improve their activities and understand and report on the value of their work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get initial experience in developing evaluation plans and trying out new approaches within a busy and varied team and with a dynamic and exciting community partner. Prior experience in evaluation is not necessary but transferrable experience in teaching and learning, socially engaged art practice, monitoring and drawing conclusions from qualitative (I.e. interviews, spoken word, testimonies, creative approaches) and quantitative data are relevant no matter your background.

Main purpose of the role

Work alongside the Public Engagement Manger and QUEERCIRCLE to design, test and refine an evaluation framework for QUEERCIRCLE’s Health and Wellbeing events programme. Training around evaluation will be provided as part of the role.

We encourage applications from those who are underrepresented in the sector and at UCL including but, not exclusive, to non-graduates, disabled, D/deaf and neurodiverse people, LGBTQ+ people, people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, especially women. We also welcome applicants from a range of educational backgrounds and therefore do not require a minimum formal qualification for this role.

The role will be paid through UCL’s Advantage xPO system at Grade 6 equivalent. So an hourly rate of £21.18 which includes holiday pay (day rate of £154.61, 7.3 hours per day). The role is for 30 days between Monday 8th August and Friday 23rd December.

Deadline for submission is 17:00 on the 18th of July 2022 – submissions after this time cannot be accepted. Please e-mail your CV to publicengagement@ucl.ac.uk and a one side cover letter explaining how you meet the criteria highlighted in the job description. Please include Evaluation Coordinator (QUEERCIRCLE) as the title of the e-mail. Interviews will take place online on the 1st or 2nd of August, some interview questions will be shared in advance. Click the link below to download a .pdf of the job description.
