Travelling to the Museum
The UCL Art Museum, Grant Museum of Zoology & Petrie Museum of Egyptian & Sudanese Archaeology are all located within a short walk of each other on University College London’s Bloomsbury campus.

Parking
Vehicle access to University College London is restricted and where possible, we recommend visitors travel to the museums via public transport or park in the Pay & Display car parks surrounding the university.
Limited onsite accessible parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Accessible parking spaces can be booked in advance (with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice) by contacting our visitor services team: museums@ucl.ac.uk.
Drop-off / Pick-up locations
We recommend the following drop-off / pick-up locations for visitors who require either a kerb or drop kerb when alighting from their vehicle:
- Petrie Museum
- Kerb and drop kerb (drop-off only): Malet Street (Malet Place end)
- Grant Museum
- Kerb (parking or drop-off): University Street, right outside the Museum entrance
- Drop kerb (disabled parking or drop-off): Grafton Way, parallel to University Street; or Chenies Street, near junction with Huntley Street
- Drop kerb (drop-off only): University Street, near junction with Huntley Street; or Huntley Street, near junction with Chenies Street
- Art Museum
Gower Street entrance:
- Drop kerb (drop-off only): UCL Gower Street main entrance
- Kerb (parking or drop-off): University Street, outside the Grant Museum
- Drop kerb (disabled parking or drop-off): Grafton Way, parallel to University Street; or Chenies Street, near junction with Huntley Street
- Drop kerb (drop-off only): University Street, near junction with Huntley Street; or Huntley Street, near junction with Chenies Street
Gordon Street entrance:

Assistance animals
Assistance dogs are welcome at all our museum sites. Our visitor services team can provide a water bowl on request. If you would like to bring your assistance dog to a seated museum event, please contact our visitor services team in advance to reserve an aisle seat.
If you plan to visit with an animal other than an assistance dog, please get in touch with us prior to your visit: museums@ucl.ac.uk.
Portable seating
A limited number of portable folding chairs are available to borrow from each museum welcome desk on a first come, first served basis.
Level access
- Art Museum
The UCL Art Museum is completely accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility from street level via an access ramp located to the right of the museum entrance.
- Grant Museum
The Grant Museum of Zoology is completely accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility from street level via the main museum entrance.
- Petrie Museum
The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology is accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility from street level via a lift in the adjacent UCL Science Library. Upon arrival at the museum, visitors requiring lift/level access should ring the buzzer labelled ‘Museum’ located to the right of the main museum entrance. A member of our visitor services team will meet and escort you to the galleries via our level access route. Assistance is also available in reverse when exiting the museum.
Level access between the Pottery and Main Gallery spaces is available via a staff-operated lift. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team when you would like to move between galleries.
Level access to our Entrance Gallery and shop is available via a private staff area. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team for access when you would like to explore this space.
Toilet and baby care facilities
Toilet and baby care facilities are located in each museum as follows:
- Art Museum
No integrated toilet or baby care facilities. Gender neutral toilets are located less than a five-minute walk from the museum. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team at the welcome desk for directions.
- Grant Museum
Separate male and female toilet facilities, a gender-neutral accessible toilet and baby care cubicle can be accessed via a swipe door adjacent to the museum entrance. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team at the welcome desk for access.
- Petrie Museum
Separate male and female toilet facilities can be accessed via a swipe door adjacent to the Pottery Gallery. A gender-neutral accessible toilet is available on the ground floor of the adjacent UCL Science Library. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team at the welcome desk for access.
The nearest Changing Places toilet facility is located on the ground floor of the UCL Science Library and is accessible via a radar key. This building is immediately adjacent to the Petrie Museum. Please speak to a member of our visitor services team at the welcome desk for directions and access.
UCL Museums actively support gender nonconforming, nonbinary, and transgender visitors and staff in their right to use our facilities free from discrimination. If you experience uncomfortable or inappropriate behaviour when using our facilities, please speak with a member of our visitor services team.
Baby feeding
Breastfeeding and bottle feeding are welcome in our museum spaces. Please speak with a member of our visitor services team if you would prefer a quieter space with greater privacy. Private spaces are subject to use and may not always be available.
Please be aware that all other forms of food and drink, apart from bottled water, are not permitted in the galleries.
