Purpose

Rae Harbird, our beloved colleague at UCL Computer Science, had a great impact on our lives. On the 26 March, Rae would be starting another year of life.

26 March serves as an opportunity to celebrate Rae's life and legacy through a series of activities aimed at promoting her core values.

Through these initiatives, Rae will live vividly as a perpetual source of inspiration in our memories and actions.

"Celebrating life and making known the legacy of women who, although no longer among us, remain vivid as inspirations in our memories and actions is a way of resisting the discouragements of these times - which we can barely describe without some disarray in our hopes."  Gisele Secco

Activities

UCL CS Outreach Day

On 26 March 2024, UCL CS will host an Outreach Day, welcoming school groups to our facilities. This event aims to provide students with a glimpse of university life and inspire them to pursue higher education in computer science.

Interactive Sessions

CS Ambassadors will engage students in interactive activities, providing them with hands-on experience in coding and programming. These activities are inspired by Rae's initiative, the Code Curriculum, which she developed alongside Professor Steve Hailes.
