Queer Adaptation and the Classics: Elagabalus and Sappho in Performance

The event will be introducing the first two chapters of a new interactive on-line resource titled Queering the Past(s) and designed to address an important gap in school education on LGBQT+ subjects (mandated in the UK by statutory requirements for schools to include Sex and Relationships Education as part of the secondary curriculum). 

It will comprise a roundtable discussion with some of the ebook creators and with performers and theatre practitioners from the By Jove Theatre Company who have written new theatrical pieces inspired by the content of the first two chapters, and will be followed by three staged readings of these newly-composed theatrical pieces.

 The event will be both live in the Christopher Ingold Building XLG1 Chemistry LT, Christopher Ingold Building - 20 GORDON STREET, LONDON, WC1H 0AJ, and on zoom (zoom link details will be sent to all those who have registered a day in advance). Please register via Eventbrite.
