A free online summer school for pupils in years 10, 11 and 12
Founded by students at UCL's Department of Greek and Latin, Academus Education is a free online summer school for school pupils in years 10, 11 and 12, who may struggle to access Classical education in mainstream schooling. The initiative has been prompted by the Covid-19 crisis and the cancellation of many summer school outreach programmes. As the course is free and online, we hope to reduce the traditional barriers to access. Between the 27th of July and the 7th of August 2020 Academus Education will run classes in Latin and Greek for Beginners, and Ancient history, taught by DBS-checked volunteer undergraduate students. Additional talks from academics and authors will run in the afternoon.
Academus Education is entirely student-run, and enjoys the support of UCL's Department of Greek and Latin. Please see our website for more information.
