Early Career Researchers

Research into Children and Young People's Mental Health (CYPMH) is an important yet previously neglected area, now gaining momentum within the broader domain of Brain Sciences. UCL is home of World-renowned research in this area, with several established scholars and Early Career Researchers (ECRs). The national interest in CYPMH is exemplified by an increase in funding opportunities. Given this rapid development, we created a committee specifically devoted to supporting ECRs in CYPMH, in addition to the existing early career networks within UCL’s Research Domains.

Mission

This Committee aims to provide ECRs in CYPMH opportunities to network with other ECRs at UCL and beyond, to learn about important information (e.g. funding opportunities) and training (e.g., on grantsmanship), to join events (e.g. workshops run by and for ECRs), to showcase their work, to receive and offer support (e.g. mock interviews and peer review), as well as to share resources, information, and ideas on a common platform, currently MS Teams.

Audience

The committee disseminates information and organises activities and events for anyone who identifies as an ECR interested or active in the field of CYPMH. This includes doctoral candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and lecturers, usually up to 6 years from receiving their doctoral degree. Please join our MS Teams channel to get in touch and learn more.
