Research summary
Research in my group focuses on development and disease of the central nervous system. We have a particular interest in identifying the causes and mechanisms underlying neural tube defects (e.g. spina bifida) and in identifying novel preventive therapies. In parallel we are working towards development of novel treatment for the rare, neurometabolic disorder Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH).
We take a multi-disciplinary approach encompassing developmental biology, biochemistry & metabolomics and molecular genetics using novel mouse models, cell line and iPSC-derived models.
