Folashade Akinmolayan (Teaching Fellow)

Dr Akinmolayan received her MEng and PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering, UCL. Born and raised in London she is also passionate about promoting the engineering discipline to school children by organising and participating in outreach events, such as being a mentor with In2Science and National Women in Engineering Day. She is one of the founding members of the UCL Student Society of Women Engineers and is avid about public engagement through her role as a STEM Ambassador and the lead organiser of a Headstart Chemical Engineering summer course.

Teaching interests

Dr Akinmolayan is a teaching fellow for the Integrated Engineering Programme (Chemical Engineering). She is particularly interested in student awareness and development of employability skills. Dr Akinmolayan’s departmental teaching activities include being the co-ordinator and teaching on all three core modules of a new curriculum structure within Engineering, the Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP), aimed at improving engineering education though the use of student-centred teaching methods.
