PhD Project Title: Therapeutic strategies for the management of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Supervisors: Professor Perry Elliott and Petros Syrris

Lay summary:

  1. Perform an evaluation on the current standard of practice on the management of left ventricular outflow tract obstruction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy including effects of geographic location and contemporary data.
  2. Explore the various therapeutic strategies to manage left ventricular outflow tract obstruction.
  3. Perform an extensive literature search on reported data to date in the management of this complication in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
  4. Analyse and present the data from a large heterogeneous group of patients at a specialised cardiomyopathy centre in London and compare this data to the global literature.
