Research into heart disease using world's brightest X-ray machine

Professor Andrew Cook from UCL's Institute of Cardiovascular Science leads research into heart disease using the world's largest X-ray machine.

Professor Andrew Cook, who is based at the Childrens Cardiovascular Diseases department within UCL's Institute of Cardiovascular Science, is leading research into heart disease using the world's largest X-ray machine. Based at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, this X-ray machine can produce X-rays that are 100 billion times stronger than normal clinical X-ray systems. This work has been highlighted in a recent National Geographic article.
