A new UK Centre for Research on Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS) will officially launch at this event.
The new Centre builds on research undertaken by the End Use Energy Demand Centres (EUED) – a series of projects that explored new ways to manage energy demand. At this event EUED findings will be shared, including those of the Centre on Innovation and Energy Demand (CIED), providing the context for the work of CREDS. We will be looking at the way we use energy in the UK and what approaches can be applied to transform the future energy demand.
The Centre is funded with £19.5 million from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
UCL-Energy will lead a number of areas of research for UKCRED:
- Professor Tadj Oreszczyn is a UKCRED co-director and will lead the buildings theme
- Professor Bob Lowe is a UKCRED co-director and will lead the heat challenge
- Professor David Shipworth, UKCRED Co Investigator, will lead a project as part of the Policy and Governance theme on Distributed Ledgers
At the launch event UCL-Energy Staff will be presenting on RUCK CEE as part of the EUED Showcase.
Join us to hear about the work already done and what is planned over the next five years to achieve our ambitious goals.
