Dr Bello Muhammad

Bello is a Lecturer (Teaching) in computer science at UCL BASc. He holds a PhD in Data Science from Coventry University, UK.

His main expertise includes Machine Learning, Algorithms, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Data engineering, software development etc.

Bello has also worked in areas of Automatic Text Summarisation (ATS) Information Retrieval (IR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) with experience in both industry and academia.

His academic experience spans more than 10 years in various institutions of higher learning including Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria, Coventry University, Coventry UK and now University College London, UK.

He has also worked with Coventry Interactive Ltd, a software company based in Coventry United Kingdom.

Bello is currently investigating the Impact of HCI on students for Computer Aided Learning applications.

Research interests and projects include:

  • Usability evaluation of Imikode Virtual Reality Game to facilitate learning of object-oriented programming
  • DeepConAD: A deep and confidence prediction for unsupervised anomaly detection in time series.
  • Efficiency of Boolean Search Strings for information retrieval

Teaching

Bello is module convenor for BASC0038 Algorithms, Logic and Structure and BASC0047 Machine Reasoning and Expert Systems.
