Professor Elsa Arcaute - Turing University Team 24/25 Lead

The primary Academic link between the Turing and UCL

Elsa is Professor of Complexity Science at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, University College London, and a fellow and university team lead of the Alan Turing Institute (UK’s national institute for data science and artificial intelligence). She holds a master’s and a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge. Her research expertise lies in modelling urban systems from the perspective of complexity science, making use of methods from physics and network science within a multidisciplinary framework. Her main goal is to gain insights into resilience and sustainability.

Professor Irina Bass

Professor Irina Brass - Turing University Team member

Irina is Associate Professor in Regulation, Innovation and Public Policy at UCL Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP

Irina is Principal Investigator of the REG-MEDTECH Project in the PETRAS National Centre of Excellence for IoT Systems Cybersecurity (EPSRC), looking at the regulatory and standardization challenges of connected, intelligent medical devices. She is also Co-Investigator in the Future Targeted Healthcare Manufacturing Hub (EPSRC), where she leads a project on adaptive regulatory strategies for advanced biotherapeutics.

Prof Miguel Rodrigues Profile picture

Professor Miguel Rodrigues - Turing University Team member

Professor of Information Theory and Processing in the Dept of Electronic & Electrical Engineering.

Miguel lead the Information, Inference and Machine Learning Lab at UCL, and he has also been the founder and director of the master programme in Integrated Machine Learning Systems at UCL. 

Miguel obtained the undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal and the PhD degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from UCL.

Jessica Livermore

Jess Livermore - Turing University Liaison Manager

The primary Administrative link between the Turing and UCL, based within the BEAMS Research Coordination Office (UCL Research, Innovation & Global Engagement).

Jess is an experienced Communication and People Manager with a background in developing strategic communication plans across various industries. Jess has worked in various management roles in the education sector including at London Business School, LSE and UCL.
