Leading knowledge exchange at UCL training accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to ‘Leading knowledge exchange at UCL’ a series of online learning modules for UCL staff built in Articulate Rise.

The course provides a short introduction to knowledge exchange primarily aimed at academic managers and leaders whose teams are involved in (or are contemplating) knowledge exchange with non-academic partners. 
This statement only applies to the training itself, not the broader platform/website it is hosted on (LearnUpon). 
‘Leading knowledge exchange at UCL’ is provided by a third party (Myko Creative) which means that some aspects of its accessibility are outside of our immediate control. This training is run by UCL Innovation & Enterprise.

This training will allow you to: 

  • Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen 
  • Navigate the website using the keyboard 
  • Understand images with alt text 
  • Engage with interactive content with keyboard, screen readers 
  • View captions on videos and download video transcripts

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Myko Creative has identified the following areas of the website that are non-compliant with the regulations and are not otherwise covered by exemptions.

Throughout the training, the ‘continue’ button is hidden after it has been selected, but not the instruction text that accompanies it, therefore functionality is not affected.

On the course homepage the ‘start course’ button does not have focus visibility when accessed using the keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visibility.
