Elizabeth Gallagher

I am doing a PhD with the Molecular and Cultural Evolution Lab based in the Darwin building, and I am part of CoMPLEX. My project is a mix of genetics, archaeology and computer science, you can read more about it here.

I started out doing mostly pure mathematics in my undergraduate degree, then after feeling a need for some application, found the Centre for Mathematical Biology at the University of Bath. After being introduced to biological complexity through this and not yet feeling focused enough on one research interest, I came across UCL's interdisciplinary programme at the Centre for Mathematics and Physics in the Life Sciences and Experimental Biology.

Interests

My research interests include image processing, population dynamics, artificial intelligence and evolutionary game theory.
