Nanofibers as adsorbents

As the bioprocessing industry advances in response to the global pressure of driving down the cost of new and existing therapeutics the limitations of current chromatography systems are being error more strained. From the cost of resins to the throughput volumes achievable the development downstream is not matching that of its upstream counterpart. As a result the research and development of new systems is prominent and crucial to continuing advances in the industry. My four year EngD project at UCL, headed up by Dr. Daniel G. Bracewell, is in collaboration with Prof. Bob Stevens at the MNTC, STFC. The work aims to offer one possible solution to the ever growing limitations of current purification techniques.
