Artist's statement

My works are originated from questions about the relationship between works and space and audience and me. I wonder how they affect each other and how meaning is generated through the audience’s perception about my works, how it differs between each individual. Many objects surrounding me are filmed and recorded after then I took them into my works. However, I do not want to say my works are close to documentary. To show something represented is not just representation of past. It is very crucial that many possibilities are being generated by participation of audiences in the space surrounding works. Therefore, I would like to leave room in my works for audience to get diverse and different open-endings and meaning. While my works are formed by past things, they become every new different present by involving the audience. Everybody can be both an audience and a part of my work and they can create a bunch of images and several different endings. I fancy to see what happens next after I suggest something to people. By a number of results caused by the process I am able to learn and experience anew. I am also looking for the attitude and mind which is purely important to an artist. It seems like a longest voyage to seek for the clear and essential thing to me, and this series of processes is my powerful motivation so I can make works constantly and maintain my stance.
