WHY I APPLIED TO THE SECURITY SCIENCE DTC

I came across the DTC programme at SECRet during my MSc project while working with my supervisor. On further research, the DTC programme provides a perfect platform to apply solutions for real-life problems within the security and crime science domain. Apart from being very dynamic, innovative and multi - disciplinary, one can interact and develop skills (that are easily transferrable), gain knowledge (from a very helpful and interactive academic staff), form connections with industry experts (from conferences, seminars and workshops) and gain cross - discipline insight on security issues (from my peers).

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My main interest lies in decision making models using qualitative and quantitative approach to address complex issues and problems of taking rationale decisions in an uncertain world. This would help in protecting assets and maximising operational effectiveness and efficiency in raising a core question of time, effort, cost and resource management.

In addition, it tries to bridge the common sense with empirical, quantitative, normative and descriptive analysis.

WHAT I DO WHEN I'M NOT STUDYING

I enjoy travelling and love the cultural diversity. I love various adventure sports such as white water rafting, hiking, trekking and have done zorbing and bungee jumping in New Zealand. I am a keen premiership follower and enjoy watching and attending football matches on a regular basis. I also enjoy other sports such as cricket, tennis, badminton and table tennis .

MY CAREER ASPIRATIONS

With my background, I hope to work in the field of my research interest combining Engineering and Technology with Operational Research

WHAT KIND OF PARTNER ORGANISATION I'D LIKE TO WORK WITH AND WHAT I'D LIKE FROM THEM

I am looking to work and collobarate with organisations providing support and expertise in my research interests. I am open to new and innovative ideas and am looking for organisation that would also ensure; my research is effective, worthy and applicable to real - life problems.
