UCL Centre for Computational Biology

The UCL Centre for Computational Biology is an interdisciplinary centre of excellence for mathematical and computational analysis of the fast-growing data in genetics and biology.

Welcome

UCL has a long history of major breakthroughs in statistics and science. The Centre for Computational Biology is directed by Professor Ziheng Yang FRS and comprises staff from GEE and other departments within the Faculty of Life Sciences as well as UCL Department of Computer Science who work at the interface between mathematics/statistics/computer science and biology.

The Centre was established in 2010 and is the latest incarnation of research excellence in this exciting and critical field at UCL.

The UCL Centre for Computational Biology was previously known as the Fisher Centre. In the Summer of 2020, GEE took the collective decision to rename the Centre

History of Centre for Computational Biology

Established in 2010, the Centre for Computational Biology is the latest representation of UCL's long and illustrious history in statistics.

Study

UCL Library

Centre staff teaches on several undergraduate programs, including the Computational Biology pathway that is available for MSci degrees in Biological Sciences.

The UCL MRes in Biosciences allows students to undertake a major research project and gain in-depth knowledge of Computational Biology and to develop the generic skills required for the written and verbal communication of science.

Masters
