The QuIRC (Quality Indicator for Rehabilitative Care) is the first internationally agreed tool to assess quality of care for people with longer term mental health problems in psychiatric and social care facilities. Following completion, a facility's QuIRC ratings are provided across seven areas of care (built environment; therapeutic environment; treatments and interventions; self-management and autonomy; social interface; human rights; Recovery-orientated practice) which are then compared to ratings of similar facilities within your country.
The QuIRC was developed through a three-year pan-European study funded by the European Commission. More information about the study can be found here.
If you are a manager or senior member of staff of an inpatient or community-based psychiatric unit for individuals with longer term mental health problems and would like to undertake an assessment of the quality of care provided in your facility using the QuIRC, you can register here. However, if you work in a specialist mental health supported accommodation facility (residential care home, supported housing or floating outreach service) it may be that the QuIRC-SA (Quality Indicator for Rehabilitative Care - Supported Accommodation) is the more appropriate tool for you. For more information on the QuIRC-SA please click here.
As part of the registration process, you will be asked to complete a few questions about your service to check that you are using the right tool. If so, you will receive log-in details to proceed to the assessment.
QuIRC web site utilises responsive web design to enhance user experience across multiple devices (e.g. desktops, tables and mobile phones).
QuIRC now allows a single user to complete assessments for multiple units.
Complete self-assessment and view your report in approximately 90 minutes.
