Biochemistry - standard SDS-PAGE and western blotting, prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression and purification of proteins and immunoprecipitation.

Cell biology - immunocytochemistry, immunohistochenistry, tissue preparation using the vibratome, microtome and cryostat, olfactory placode and olfactory bulb explants, live cell imaging, standard and confocal microscopy.

Molecular biology - PCR, extraction of RNA, RT-PCR, cloning, Northern and Southern blotting, in vitro transcription, in situ hybridisation and site-directed mutagenesis.

Cell culture - primary cell culture (GnRH neurons and astrocytes), cell lines and explant cultures.
