Bibliometrics

Bibliometrics is concerned with the analysis of research based on citation counts and patterns. The individual measures used are also commonly referred to as bibliometrics, or citation metrics.

This website provides a guide to UCL authors and colleagues in the best way to approach bibliometric measures, and how to interpret and use the findings in relation to the forthcoming UCL bibliometrics policy and the wider context.

UCL is a research-intensive university that consistently scores highly in world league tables. Bibliometrics are a key factor in compiling many of these rankings, providing an approach which allows for a quantitative evaluation of research outputs.
