Remedy User Tool for Windows

Remedy User Tool v7.1.0 patch #7 (Windows only - updated 22nd June 2009)

The link above points always to the recommended version of the Remedy client for Windows.

  • Click on the link to download the file you can open the installer, or save it to your local disk to execute it from there
    if there is a warning message "The publisher could not be verified", ignore it (press "Run").

  • Follow instructions of the installer.

  • If you are concerned about disk space, don't install the Crystal Report libraries (18MB).

  • Install the ODBC driver (which doesn't require much space and provides a way to import remedy data into Excel).

  • It's recommended to run the client in English (using a single language makes investigating problems or following instructions and documentation easier).

  • Choose destination folders:
    The default values are C:\Program Files\AR System\User and C:\Program Files\AR System\HOME
    If this is the first time you install the User Tool, just accept this default values.
    If you already had the User Tool installed, the installer might detect it and change the paths accordingly; otherwise you might change the home directory path in order to keep your settings.

  • Specify the Remedy server Location:
    If the list of servers already shows ars-server.ucl.ac.uk, simpy reply Next
    otherwise, use the Add button to fill in the name of the server: ars-server.ucl.ac.uk (leave the other fields empty).

  • To start Remedy client for the first time:
    go to Start / Programs / Action Request System / Remedy User
    write your User Name and Password, and write ars-server.ucl.ac.uk in the Preference Server field
    click OK.
