The two local charities for Queen Square are Brain Research UK (supporting the ION) and the National Brain Appeal (supporting the NHNN)

Association of Medical Research Charities - National membership organisation of leading medical and health research charities.

Brain Charity - The Brain Charity (previously known as Neurosupport) offers non-medical advice to people with neurological conditions and the families, friends and carers who support them.

Brain Research UK - Brain Research UK is the umbrella charity for research into conditions of the brain and nervous system, promoting and supporting research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases.  We fund basic and clinical research at University College London’s world-renowned Institute of Neurology.

Contact - Contact is the only UK charity providing support and advice to parents whatever the medical condition of their child.

CORE - For those wishing to read around academic research articles, CORE is a tool to facilitate free public access to content stored in Open Access repositories across the world.

DIPEx - healthtalk - DIPEx has created a unique database of personal and patient experiences through in-depth qualitative research into over 40 different illnesses and health conditions.

DVLA Guidelines for Medical Staff - This publication summarises the national medical guidelines of fitness to drive and is available to doctors and health care professionals. 

EasyHealth - For people who have learning disabilities, or who struggle with English, EasyHealth can be a really useful resource for leaflets. The website has got different ones for lots of common health conditions, and others that explain common medical procedures like having blood taken.

eMC - The electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC) provides electronic Summaries of Product Characteristics (SPCs) and Patient Information Leaflets (PILs). It provides information on thousands of licensed medicines available in the UK, continuously updated with new and revised SPC and PIL information.

Healthfinder.gov (US site) - A US government Web site providing information and tools to help you and those you care about stay healthy.

MedlinePlus ( US site) - MedlinePlus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and other government agencies and health-related organizations. MedlinePlus is updated daily and can be bookmarked at the URL: medlineplus.gov. There is no advertising on this site, nor does MedlinePlus endorse any company or product.

National Brain Appeal - The National Brain Appeal is the charity dedicated to raising much needed funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square London.

National Institute on Aging (US site) - This easy-to-use website features health and wellness information for older adults from the National Institutes of Health.

Netdoctor.co.uk - NICE Guidance (National Institute for health & Clinical Excellence, NHS) All the clinical guidance is produced in patient friendly versions called 'Understanding Nice Guidance'. 

NeuroTalk Support - A secure, reliable online support community for people with neurological disorders and diseases.

NHS website - The NHS website offers a service that aims to put you at the centre of your healthcare by providing a comprehensive health information service. There is also a guide to resources patients can use to access a wide range of health information which is freely available. 

NIHR Evidence - plain language summaries of government-funded health research to try and make evidence accessible for all. 

Patients like me (US site) - PatientsLikeMe is committed to providing a better, more effective way to capture valuable results and share them with patients, healthcare professionals, and industry organizations that are trying to treat the disease.

Patient - Details of nearly 2000 UK patient support organisations, self help groups, health and disease information providers, etc. Each entry is cross referenced and details are checked annually. This site has advertising.
