Festival of Engineering
A Celebration of Engineering Education
The value of engineers to modern-day life is immeasurable and the appointment of Sir Alexander Kennedy, at UCL in 1874, sparked a revolution in engineering education that spanned traditional disciplines, saw the introduction of the first engineering teaching laboratory in the UK, and reformed how engineering was taught globally. Find out what engineers are doing to address global challenges.
Celebrating the past, but looking to the future!
It is believed that Sir Alexander was inspired to advance engineering education after attending a single exhibition and we want to use a similar showcase event to tell the modern story of engineering, to demonstrate the value it adds to people’s lives and to ignite the passion and imagination of the next generation of engineering innovators and leaders. Find out what's on.
