6. Fashion

  • Fashion is the same as in England other than the traditional Chinese clothes some people were wearing. Shops sell all the same clothes you can get in England.

  • Their clothes are great but they are all too small!

  • There are some beautiful ethnic clothes.

  • I love the stores selling Chinese vintage clothes - must look for a Mao suit!

  • Designer labels at a tenth of the UK price – fantastic!

  • The women either seem to be very well dressed - very very well dressed quite often, almost iconic.

  • They seemed to frown at me when I wore a short skirt.

  • Why is it so difficult to find silk in Kunming?

  • The hair fashions seem to be to bleach their hair and make it curly. We even saw some Chinese people with ‘Afro’ haircuts.

  • A beautiful silk jacket made to fit cost less than £20.
