Careers

Our degree programmes provide you with a set of transferable skills, highly valued by employers. Our students go on to work in varied roles across the public, private and charitable sectors, as well as working as researchers and teachers.

Graduates of our Master's and PhD programmes will be well placed to use their skills and knowledge to find employment in government, business, journalism, finance, the renewable energy sector and in international NGOs, teaching, literature, as well as for further research. Examples of places and institutions some of our alumni have gone to include: The House of Lords (UK), the US House of Representatives, the German Foreign Ministry, Transparency International UK, the British Equality and Human Rights Commission, various journalism and NGO positions, the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR), the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (Chile), University College London and University of Oxford as lecturers, amongst many others. Soome have chosen to further their studies.

Our students benefit from careers advice that is provided by the UCL Careers Service. The UCL Careers Service provide a range of services including: short or long 1-1 meetings to discuss career choices, reading CVs, conducting practice interviews or assessment centre techniques, and providing access to written guides on many career pathways.
