Professor Simons, CEng FIChemE, is Professor of Chemical Engineering at UCL and Director of the Centre for CO2 Technology (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/centre-for-co2-technology/), a multidisciplinary research and training Centre focused on the development of innovative technologies for the reduction, removal and sequestration of carbon dioxide. He is also a Director of Carbon8 Systems Ltd. (www.c8s.co.uk), a multi-award winning company that is commercialising a revolutionary technique for treating waste streams using carbon dioxide, known as accelerated carbonation technology.
Since 1994 he has been working with universities in Kazakhstan (and now Russia) developing modern chemical engineering degree currcicula and is UCL Special Advisor on Kazakhstan (http://www.ucl.ac.uk/global/advisers/kazakhstan).
