MAPS Innovation and Enterprise Early Career Researcher (ECR) Bridging Fund Scheme 2021/2022

The I&E Early Career Researcher (ECR) Bridging Fund Scheme is designed with two main purposes: to bridge the gap between academic research and enterprise and to retain talent with entrepreneurial skills.
It is for PhD students in their last year of studies and Post-doctoral Research Associates (whose contracts are due to end), who have been working on an I&E focused project and are looking for future funding to progress their research towards commercialization. The fund is intended to navigate the crucial early stage in the I&E commercialisation journey, where many projects fail due to lack of resources.

This scheme will offer financial support for up to five PhDs students for a 3-month period (i.e. £1,450 pm stipend) and for one Post-doctoral Research Associate for a 2-month period (in this case the salary will depend on grade and spinal point, although maximum funding allocated will not be higher than £10,000).
