Unions heading for dispute with UCL. Following discussions with HR, it is clear that UCL have no intention of making significant changes to the redundancy payments scheme to restore payments for long serving staff to the levels they previously received.

UCL Senior Reps to meet with HR. The Branch Chair, Secretary and Vice-Chair will be discussing several issues (including the redundancy pay changes) with UCL HR in a meeting at 11am on Thursday 8th February.

Redundancy Pay Calculator added to website. To enable members to compare the redundancy pay they would get under UCL's new scheme with what they would have received before, we have developed a spreadsheet which they can use. Click here for spreadsheet.

UCL members voice opposition to UCL's changes to redundancy scheme. At a well attended Branch meeting yesterday, the members voted unanimously on a motion condemning the changes made unilaterally by UCL to the enhanced redundancy payments scheme. Click here for the motion.

Extraordinary Branch Meeting - Thursday 8th February 2007, 1-2pm in the Biochemistry Lecture Theatre, Darwin Building, UCL. This meeting has been convened at the request of members at the Branch meeting on Wednesday 31st January, in order for UCL reps to report back on their meeting with HR on the redundancy pay issue, and to allow members to discuss the merger with the T&GWU ahead of the ballot which will be starting this month.
