Educational Deprivation Dashboard

Overview

Funded by UCL, in collaboration with Linking London and originally launched in Autumn 2021, the Educational Deprivation Dashboard brings together key metrics to help provide a detailed overview of educational deprivation in London. This includes data from:

  • POLAR 4
  • TUNDRA
  • IMD
  • Key Stage 4 & 5 attainment
  • Ethnicity and gender across London schools and colleges

Within the Dashboard, the data can also be interrogated at school and college level as well as local authority levels.

Developed by Karina Berzins and Aga Spytkowska, the updated version of the Dashboard also includes a new metric - the Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI). This provides a more relevant index when examining learner populations in schools. We have also updated the Further Education section of the dashboard to include achievement, completion and retention data at all levels of study. This is a large step in making data more accessible for FE Colleges in London.

Who is this for?

We encourage all education providers, including those working in widening participation and outreach, researchers, evaluators and policy makers, as well as anyone with an interest in understanding educational disadvantage in London, to explore this dashboard and share it with interested colleagues.
