Carey Young's burning Q's

Does the notion of 'virtual community' have a limited lifespan, and if so, why?

I personally feel that many designers of interactive screen-based artworks feel the need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the problem of interface design - icons, navigational tools, common signage etc. Do you think it would be possible, or desirable, to adopt some universal models? if so, what might they be, or be based on?

If you have ever experienced a computer-screen-based artwork that was truly involving in an emotional sense, how did it make you feel? how did it achieve this? and would you say it was 'immersive,' in any sense of the word?

A common criticism of artwork on the Net is that its mode of delivery is essentially elitist. How might Net artists avoid this accusation?

Have you come across any interactive artworks which could be described within a modernist framework of reference?

What would you list as the cliches of cyberculture?
