Studying Biosciences and Biomedical Sciences

Students will develop an advanced understanding of the development, structure and function of biological systems, together with an understanding of the mechanisms underlying normal function and dysfunction at molecular, cellular and systems levels. Students will acquire and put into practice the research methods skills necessary to investigate mechanisms and develop knowledge in this field.

Camillo Moschner (Biomedical Sciences 2018) and his team won the gold medal in the iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machines) competition in 2017. Their innovative project aimed to create light-activated biological switches for use in tissue engineering.
