Summary:

In a series of experiments we have been investigating the effects of increasing perceptual load on the ability to carry out a search task in the presence of distractors. Our experiments have examined whether individuals with autism have a higher perceptual capacity meaning that they continue to be influenced by distractors in highload search tasks. We have also be examining whether individuals with autism are distracted more by face distractors in comparison to non-social distractors.
