The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Obesity Policy Research Unit world-class expertise in working with children and young people, food policy, economic modelling and research on environment and behaviour change. 

Our goal is to undertake research of the highest quality to support the Department of Health and Social Care (England) and its partners to: 

1. Combat the environments and systems that drive obesity;
2. Modify behaviours that encourage obesity; 
3. Reduce health inequalities and the consequences of obesity across the life-span.
