The watercolour is highly aestheticized, presenting the nerves in a highly symmetrical fashion and removed coherent entity from the entanglement of organs. In the bottom right Alexander Shaw appears to have signed the watercolour, while in the left Bell has written “C. Bell fecit:, Charles Bell made this, and offered a text inscription
