Contents: notes, pamphlets and press cuttings mainly re Yugoslavia, particularly developments in education during the Second World War and immediate post war period; writings and translations of extracts of writings on peasant life in Yugoslavia; notes and cuttings re education in the Soviet Union

LOD/2/3 - Press cuttings and translated extracts re Yugoslav affairs (1943-1956)

Contents: press cuttings and translated extracts re the following areas of Yugoslav life - adult education, army, child welfare, co-operatives, disabled and veterans, English press, films, health and housing. Some cuttings are stuck onto sheets of paper containing a brief explanation of their contents in English. LOD/2/3 and LOD/2/4 were presumably originally part of the same filing system. Since OL died in 1953 and the folders contain cuttings after that date the system must have later been maintained by someone else, it is possible that this was Ruth Turnton, a researcher of Yugoslav affairs whose name appears on some of the papers.

Contents: press cuttings and translated extracts (and a few photographs) re the following areas of Yugoslav life - law, literacy, minorities, miscellaneous, religion, schools and general education, Soviet-Yugoslav relations, speeches at VI Party Congress, teaching, Tito's speeches, university, women and youth. Some cuttings are stuck onto sheets of paper containing a brief explanation of their content in English. LOD/2/3 and LOD/2/4 were presumably originally part of the same filing system. Since OL died in 1953 and the folders contain cuttings after that date the system must have later been maintained by someone else, it is possible that this was Ruth Turnton, a fellow researcher of Yugoslav affairs whose name appears on some of the papers.
