Biography

The free coloured woman Elizabeth Game is named in the will of William McBean of Tomatin (Inverness-shire). She was the mother of his son Duncan. William bequeathed an enslaved woman called Cornelia and her children to his brother Lachlan, who was also in Demerara, to be held by him on order to provide for Duncan.

Duncan McBean may be claimant British Guiana 1557.
