  1. 1841 census Thomas Wace independent aged 66 living Wadhurst Sussex; Will of Thomas Wace gentleman of Wadhurst Sussex proved 30/03/1850.  Thomas Wace reportedly left Hill House in Wadhurst to his nephew the Rev. Richard Henry Wace, father (1804-94) of Henry West (1836-1924), Leader Writer for the Times and Principal of Kings College London 1883-1896.
