Of London, awarded as official assignee of R. J. Barnes the compensation for the enslaved on Tyrell's estate in Antigua and a claimant alongside other assignees in an award in British Guiana.

  1. James Foster Groom married Mary Gater 07/12/1806 St Giles-in-the-Fields Holborn. Six children of the couple were baptised between 1807 and 1819 at St Leonard Shoreditch and St Mary Newington. In 1841 James Groom assignee aged 55 was living with two servants at Philips Lane Tottenham. In 1851 he was still at Philip Lane but as 'wife's father': the head of household was Edwin Clarkson. Will of James Foster Groom, late of Abchurch Lane and of Tottenham, who died at Tottenham 24/01/1858, proved 16/03/1858 effects under £25,000.
