Biography

Awarded the compensation for a single enslaved person in Trinidad.

  1. In Trinidad, 1828, an enslaved woman whose given name was Maria Agnes La Roche aged 13 'Creole of Trinidad' was registered to Eliza Elvira Glenn a minor by Isaac Millet the agent of Sarah Bellum of the Port of Spain, described as 'her [i.e. Eliza Elvira Glenn's] mother', in whose possession Marie Agnes La Roche was.

It is not probable but not certain that Mrs Eliza Glenn the correspondent is the same woman as 'Eliza Elvira Glenn' the awardee.
