Biography

John Cass of St Andrew, planter. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1733. Slave-ownership at probate: 15 of whom 7 were listed as male and 8 as female. 7 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £615.56 Jamaican currency of which £293.04 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £81.28 currency cash, £58.66 currency debts and £28.6 currency plate.

Possibly the John Cass whose wife Susannah died in childbed 12/02/1730 age 23 years, 10 months and 7 days, and who was buried in St Andrew.
