  1. George Elkin of St John, planter. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1686. Slave-ownership at probate: 90 of whom 39 were listed as male and 51 as female. 24 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £3004.68 Jamaican currency of which £1390 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £28 currency cash, £0 currency debts and £0 currency plate.

  2. Possibly the same man as the George Elkin who had patented 3286 acres of land in St Catherine by 1670 and also the George Elkin who had patented 563 with [forename unknown] Petty in St David by 1670. Possibly the "and Elkin" who had patented 30 acres in St David with John White by 1670.
