Planter of Vere. Owner of an unidentified estate. Deceased by 1737.

  1. George Golding of Vere, planter. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1738. Slave-ownership at probate: 55 of whom 32 were listed as male and 23 as female. 15 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £2309.91 Jamaican currency of which £1449 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £50 currency cash, £102.06 currency debts and £0 currency plate.

  2. Accounts Produce entries exist for the estate of George Golding in 1740 and 1743. In 1740: Clarendon and Vere, crops cotton, livestock and hire of enslaved people, "Estate of George Golding planter deceased in the parish of Vere. Account filed by John Golding the only executor of George Golding deceased"; in 1743, Vere, crops cotton, livestock and hire of enslaved people, "Estate of George Golding planter deceased. Account filed by Arthur Clephane as overseer of the estate."

  3. The will of George Golding was proved in Jamaica in 1737.
