Biography

Attorney for Amity Hall estate in Vere, Jamaica, in 1791.

  1. Will of Thomas Gairdner of Vere Jamaica [made in 1793] proved 08/01/1794. He left property to his natural daughter Jane Gairdner and to Ann and Annabella Thomas, including enslaved women. His residuary heir was his nephew Robert Gairdner of Mount Charles, Ayrshire. John Gairdner (1790-1876) and William Gairdner, who have entries in the ODNB as 'surgeon' and 'physician' respectively, were the sons of Robert Gairdner of Mount Charles, who died in 1795.
