Thomas Munro Munro appears in the Roll of the Indian Medical Service for 1817, became an assistant surgeon in 1816 and a surgeon in 1827. At Wooden House, Kelso, in the census of 1841, age 45, of independent means, in the household of his brother-in-law George Scott and his sister Barbara. At Benrigg in 1851, age 55, unmarried, surgeon East India Company, M.D. of Edinburgh, retired not practising. In the census of 1861 at Benrig House, age 66, doctor of medicine of the University of Edinburgh but practising surgeon, East India Company, redired on full pay, born Forfarshire, Auchterhouse, living with three female and one male servants.
