North Naylor Savery said of himself 'I am in the East India House' when he testified against William Jones, who was accused of stealing Savery's handkerchief, value 2s, and who was transported for life. Both Savery's co-trustee Robert Ritherdon and Ann Pool Ritherdon's father George Ritherdon were London-based employees of the East India Company.

Enslaved boy on Unity Valley Pen, Jamaica. Manumitted in 1795 by David Barclay and removed to Philadelphia, with 29 other freed persons from the estate, where he was placed under the care of Society for Improving the Condition of Free Blacks.
