Notes

Estate owned by John Cross Buchanan, a minor when he inherited. One-third of the enslaved people on this estate were registered as belonging to James Hill and later to (presumably) his heir Laurence Hill. It's not clear if the Hills owned a share of the whole estate or just leased out enslaved people who worked there.
