Thomas Phillips gave St David's Lampeter more than 20,000 books ('the Phillips' Collection') as well as £7000 in shares. Now forms part of the University of Wales Trinity St David.

The Buff Bay plantation was a sugar estate next to the Buff Bay River, south of Charlestown in Jamaica. By 1839, the estate was 840 acres.
