Claim Notes

Parliamentary Papers p. 19.

The award was split - £1557 11s 5d went to each of: Wm. Hamilton & Arch. Bogle (69A); Arch. Bogle (69B); George Bogle (69C); Arch., Robert, Wm. & John Geo. Hamilton (69D). It is assumed that John Geo. Hamilton is actually John and George Hamilton, two of the five sons of John Hamilton and Helen nee Bogle.

T71/858: claim by 'George Bogle, the heirs of, Vere, owners'.

NB: the PP show only Arch. Bogle: it has not yet been established whether this was Archibald Bogle of Gilmorehill, or Archibald Bogle the younger, or both. Pro tem, the claim has been associated with both men.

Jamaica Almanac (1828): shows the heirs of George Bogie [sic] without estate name but with consistent number of enslaved persons.
